The flag of the city on Bic caps.
The city of Bitonto is among the topics that Valerio Pisano has chosen to unleash in his artistic creations. The Sardinian artist has in fact used the city’s flag to decorate his Bic pen caps, the ballpoint pen invented by the Hungarian journalist László József Bíró. A project , that of the Bic pen, that has characterized Pisano’s artistic creations, in such that he presents everyday objects in a totally different context in which we are used to seeing and using them. The ballpoint pen has always been at the root of his creativity as a lot of his works have been created by using a ballpoint pen with such precision that they seem almost real. Over the years Valerio Pisano has acquired the ability to blend the lines of the pen until they become almost undetectable. And to make his work more lively and dynamic, the artist doesn’t hesitate to use current events or symbols that characterize a community, for example national flags or city flags as he did as a homage to Bitonto.
